Why does my child appear to be stuck or blocked?

Why does my child appear to be stuck or blocked?

So, you are wondering why it seems like your child may be stuck or is being blocked in life? These are questions that many parents or guardians have asked themselves. So, let us ask ourselves some questions as it pertains to the child.

When stuck or feeling stuck?

  • In what areas do you feel or are stuck right now?

  • What have you been doing to become unstuck?

  • Do you ever feel: Overwhelmed?

  • Exhausted, Directionless, Hopeless,

  • Surrounded by conflict, Worthless or Alone?

After you answer these questions, you should next look at what may be the mitigating circumstances that are taking place.

  • What is going on in your life right now?

  • What would you like to talk about today?

  • How are things really going in your life right now?

  • What concerns you?

  • What matters most to you today?

  • Tell me what is working well.

  • Can you describe some things that is not working well?

  • How would you like your life or situation to be different?

  • What is getting in the way of these changes?

As a believer, it is especially important for you to keep a relationship with GOD not only for yourself but for your children as well. Through Gods words, He can and will give you the answers to your questions and let you know, where when and how your child is stuck. Once God gives you the answers that you need, try your best to follow His lead through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Here are some Scriptures that I would recommend reading daily on this topic:

Gods' Word:

  • Hebrew 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

  • Isaiah 55:11 - So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

  • Matthew 24:35- Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

  • Psalm 32:8 - I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Personal Strengths:

  • John 14:12 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

  • Luke 10: 18 -19 - And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Key things to know.

It is particularly important for parents and guardians to help their child to become unstuck or unblocked in life. If you sit and wait to hope that it will work itself out, it may be too late. Some people will say, but God has the power to change anything and yes that is right. Also, if God has been speaking to you the telling you to not wait but to help your child right now and you did not hear or abide for whatever reason, you could have made damage.

Teaching your child about the Power of Gods’ word to make changes in their lives is very important. Furthermore, letting your children know about the personal strengths that God gave them will help fuel them to work through life challenges, to not become stuck or block but to move forward.

As a therapist, I have seen my fair share of detrimental crisis in families due to something that could have been handle with a conversation, a phone call and even a school meeting. So, let me tell you this! Please continue to pray for your child daily as this generation needs it.
