Generational Blessings.
Generational blessings are blessings the Lord provides to the entire or some persons within the family through multiple generations. So that may be Great-Grandparents, Grandparents, Parents and Children. Look at some of the Generational Blessings the Lord may provide for your family!
1. Exaltation: Within a family, you can see through generations of continuous high-ranking titles, whether in the military, in the community, in the state, or government positions. You can also see people in this family gaining power, having leadership responsibilities, and presenting them with the characteristics of moral people with high value. Psalms 75:10 states, All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted. (King James Version, 1998-2022, Psalms 75:10). If the horns were cut off, other animals would know that this animal does not have the God-given tools needed. Sometimes, you will see that horns are also a sign of power, rank, and status. Some animals can even get a pick of litter when it comes to mating and procreation due to the type and structure of the horn. Think about human families and our relations within our communities and neighborhoods. How would that affect us if God cut off what is needed for us to be exalted?
2. Prosperity: Deuteronomy 28: 3-5 states, Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy Kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. (King James Version, 1998-2022, Deuteronomy 28: 3-5). If the person is blessed and their goods are blessed by those who buy these items, they can also be blessed. You may have noticed that within the scripture, God has provided numerous types and levels of blessing that apply to the person's whole being. Remember that this blessing can become both an individual and a generational blessing.
3. Victory: Isaiah 54:17 tells us, no weapon formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD. Their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD (King James Version, 1998-2022, Isaiah 54:17). Within the scripture, God is allowing you to know that some will be against you and who will utilize weapons to take your victory away from you or to stop you from receiving victory. God says that any gun that is placed against you will not prosper. God further says that anyone who uses words to speak against you in judgment will condemn them. Then God finishes the scripture by telling you that this is a heritage for the people of God and that they will be righteous through him. So, therefore, victory is yours!
4. Head and Not the Tail: Deuteronomy 28:13a states, And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath (King James Version, 1998- 2022, Deuteronomy 28:13a). The scripture tells us that God himself will make us the head which also he will not make us the tail. The head may refer to being ahead of or above, and the tail may refer to being behind or below. Being ahead may mean a person will have great success, not failures. Some may say that a person must fail at some things to be great at others, but God may not apply that same concept to this blessing. God never said you would be that tail for a while and become the head. God will plan and guide some people through whatever process is needed to bring that person into the blessing of being the head and not the tail. Remember that everyone does not have the same journey, even if they are blessed!
5. Fruitfulness: Colossians 1:10 states that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God (King James Version, 1998-2022, Colossians 1:10). For me, the scripture sounds incredibly beautiful and the reason being is because the person is trying their best through God’s love to do the actions that the person has been called to do. Through this, the person has been fruitful in every excellent work that the person has done, and the person can now have increased knowledge of God. Some people will be born into a life of fruitfulness, and others may have to earn this life due to previous family or personal sins that may have stopped this blessing from occurring in their lives.
6. Health: Exodus 23:25 - ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee (King James Version, 1998- 2022, Exodus 23:25). The blessing of Great health can be something that God has put in the bloodline generations, or God can begin it with your generation or the next generation. This blessing is placed on the person's body, mind, emotions, mind, and soul. This blessing can be in all these areas, some or just one. It is okay to ask God to bless you with excellent health, even if you may feel that you don’t Deserve it.
Remember that God has the right to decide what, when, where, who, and how the blessings will manifest in your or your family’s lives. The blessings may be presented at different ages and even different genders. So, to find out what blessings are in your life, look to what may be patterned throughout the generations.
