Prayer for Substance and Addictive Disorders

Overcoming addiction is a difficult journey, but God’s grace is sufficient to break every chain. The Bible says, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). Through prayer and faith, God provides the strength to resist temptation and the courage to walk in freedom. You are not defined by your struggles but by the love and purpose God has for your life.

Biblical Example

The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) is a powerful example of God’s redemptive love. Despite his reckless lifestyle, his father welcomed the son back with open arms. Similarly, God’s mercy and grace are always available, no matter how far we’ve strayed.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your unending grace and mercy. I lift up those battling substance and addictive disorders. Grant them the strength to overcome temptation and the courage to seek help. Surround them with supportive people who will uplift and encourage them. Let them feel Your love and know they are never beyond Your reach.
